Pricey place to eat Japanese food, well you got what you paid, so that is fine. They specialize in sashimi type of food? Mean it is raw , so ask before you order for sure, okay? I'm not fan of raw food but the taste is good enough i guess, their fried food taste good too. Kinda disappointed with the parfait, should not ordering that, it taste unique but for the portion and what inside it the price is not justified. Their service are good, that's a plus. I got mosquito problem inside the store so that is a minus.

Had a quick lunch with wifey at Genbu after almost a year. One thing for sure this restaurant has successfully been consistent in their food quality. The croquettes a la creme was our appetizer and they were deliciously sweet & savory. I ordered the usual Galician Pork Tonkatsu set while my wife opted for Tonkatsu Nabe. Both had tender pork meat deep fried perfectly in bread crumbs, drenched in a self served tonkatsu sauce and ground sesame seeds. I think the claim of having the premium katsu is not far-fetched as Genbu arguably served one of the best tonkatsu in Kelapa Gading if not in town. The free affogato ice cream was just a nice touch to entice the customers to return sooner. Definitely recommended!

Ordered the Kurobuta Sirloin Tonkatsu Set, the meat was juicy & tender, not forgetting its also very crunchy! I also ordered the Pork kastu curry, the curry was very rich in flavor! Oyster katsu was also nice and also cheese potato meatballs, very cheesy & delish! For dessert i ordered chocolate pannacotta & matcha mochi. Not forgetting, the staffs are very friendly & informative. Fantastic dinner!

Excelence food! I really like the taste of gyukatsu, and also the katsu nabe! They care about the food presentation that the 2nd time i came here, the katsu is place on top of the nabe (hopefully i realize it correctly.. haha).

Delicious food, premium katsu cooking style. They offer high grade meat for both pork and beef, but also have chicken too. The portion is enough for 1 person with considerably high price but again given the high quality of food. The place is not that big but clean and cozy, there are some fly issues but the server noticed and quickly take action which is something you don't see regularly in restaurants. The service was really good, very polite, informative and kind too.

From the first visit, Genbu has become my favorite pork katsu restaurant! Genbu Premium Katsu & Bar provides various pork from different regions, such as from Japan, USA, Spain, Galician.Not only pork, but they also provide various dishes made from different kinds of beef, seafood, as well as side dishes, desserts, alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Above Genbu, there is Kai Jin, a modern izakaya that requires a reservation in advance. But don't worry, Genbu doesn't require a reservation and we could still enjoy Kai Jin's menu here as they also offer the menu from Kai Jin (will review the food that we tried from Kai Jin later)! Let's see what we tried! Sirloin Katsu-Don (IDR 159,000) A bowl of abundant rice with the less oily and tender Galician pork sirloin cutlet, donburi sauce, egg, salad, along with the warm akamiso soup. I also like how we can enjoy the salad here. So, there are two kinds of salad sauces, one with a more savory taste, and the other with a sweet and slightly sour taste. Both are good and served with white sesame. Recommended! Galician Tonkatsu Sando (IDR 149,000) They use the same pork cutlet as the sirloin katsu-don, and it becomes the filling of the white buttered bread, served with the savory and sweet sauce. Black Angus Sirloin Gyukatsu ala carte (IDR 209,000) It can be served à la carte and as a set. Since we added this menu for sharing, we had the à la carte one. The Black Angus sirloin cutlet that we needed to fry for a while until it became cooked well. This beef cutlet is tender, too. Shōchū Highball (IDR 99,000) I heard that in Japan, the highball is popular among women because the combination of alcoholic drink and soda creates a taste that is not as strong as the alcoholic drink alone. They serve the shōchū highball with a large, log-shaped ice cube, which makes the drink even more refreshing!

A fancy japanese restaurant that provide variety of premium katsu with premium ingredients, their speciality is buta katsu-pork loin (non halal obiviously). its good and delicious but comes with a price 200k per person, the place decor is modern japanese, the coffee is quite nice
